Timsbury Staff

Wendy Snow - Supervisor

Hello, my name is Wendy. I live locally with my husband and have 2 grown up sons. Both my sons attended Timsbury and that where my interest started, by becoming a parent helper and committee member. Before I joined Timsbury Preschool as the Supervisor in June 2003, I was employed in the Commercial Insurance Industry, so it was a complete change in career direction, one that I have I never looked back on. The reason I’m still here is simple, I love my job, everyday is different and I feel privileged to be a part of a family feel team that helps all children develop into confident, independent and sociable little humans. I am passionate about providing a safe, high quality fun education and care for pre-school children, so that they are always motivated to learn every single day of their lives, even beyond Preschool years and outside of the given curriculum.

Debbie Sykes - Assistant

My name is Debbie Sykes. I live in Braishfield with my husband and two children as well as a menagerie of pets! I trained as an infant teacher in Canterbury and have taught in Primary and Special Needs schools.

My eldest daughter came to Timsbury Preschool in 2006 and my youngest joined in 2008, which is when I joined the preschool committee. I really enjoyed helping out at preschool and was delighted to be offered a job here when my children went off to school.

The reason I love working here is that we have an amazing family atmosphere and I am able to teach children about the things I love such as cooking and art.

Debbie Hood - Deputy Supervisor/SENCO

Hi, my name is Debbie Hood. I am the Deputy supervisor at Timsbury Preschool. After working in the hairdressing business, I joined Timsbury in 2011 as a one to one support for a child with special needs; while I studied for my qualifiations. I become really interested in how children learn and how to find different ways to support children development while working at my child’s Preschool and Infant school. I am fascinated and passionate about helping children with SEN. I think it important to help every child to develop  to reach their full potential. I love to watch children thrive while we explore muddy puddles, crunch Autumn leaves and make snow angels ( when we do have snow)
In my own time, I enjoy riding and caring for my two ponies, so I am definiately enjoy being outdoors in all weathers and that is what I love about our rural Preschool.
